The Consulate General will issue Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to foreign nationals wishing to travel to Nepal on tourist visa.

- Required Documents for ETA (Tourist Visa)
- Copy of Online ETA/Visa Application Confirmation Page: Please print and submit the confirmation page from the completed online ETA/visa application.
- Valid Passport: Passport with at least six (6) months of validity from the expected date of entry into Nepal. The passport must contain at least two (2) blank visa pages.
- Copy of US Permanent Residence Card / Valid Visa (for nationals other than U.S. citizens)
- Visa Fee Payment: Money Order or Cashier's Check payable to “The Consulate General of Nepal, San Francisco”
*Please note that the Consulate General does not accept payment via online or cards at the moment.
- Additional Requirements for Travel Document Holders: Sponsorship Letter from a Nepali citizen and a copy of the sponsor's Nepali citizenship certificate. Click here to download the Sponsorship Letter.
- Visa Fees
- For 15-day tourist visa: $30.00
- For 30-day tourist visa: $50.00
- For 90-day tourist visa: $125.00
- Processing Time: The processing time will be 1-2 business days.
- The applicant may visit the Consulate General during consular hours with the required documents and the money order or cashier"s check.

- Printed copy of ETA/Visa Application Confirmation page
- Copy of US Permanent Residence Card / Valid Visa (for nationals other than U.S. citizens)
The applicant is not required to send his/her original passport.
The copy of the ETA will be emailed to the applicant upon its issuance.
